This is a tough one...
A black and white film. A group of people trapped in a castle late at night, maybe the Tower of London. There's a suit of armour walking around with an axe. The group meet the ghost of Henry VIII. The woman of the group puts her arm through Henry's to pose for a picture. The flash of the camera causes Henry to vanish. While the group are talking of what they’d just seen the camera is pulled by an invisible force from the photographer’s neck and thrown in the air and smashed to the ground.
A bit vague I know. But any ideas.
And NO it’s NOT A Vincent Price movie or Boris Karloff.

Sounds like you may be trying to remember The Headless Ghost, a 1959 British scare-comedy about students investigating a haunted castle.
It features a cast of little-known players, has few scares and even fewer laughs, but has a couple of memorable sequences, as you've mentioned.
The only place I've ever seen this was on laserdisc, several years back.

Though i don't recall any movie with Henry VIII as a ghost, take a look at the IMDB entry for "The Canterville Ghost" (1944). It starred Charles Laughton, who not only had played but looked like Henry VIII most of the time---Laughton plays an earth-bound spirit who must perform an act of courage before he's permitted to join his ancestors above. He does a bit of effective haunting, I believe I remember a broken camera somewhere; Robert Young co-stars. If you saw your film on tv during the 50's & 60's, this might have been the one!

There was British production that seems to ring a bell with me it was actually called "The Tower of London" or maybe "The Tower" etc. sorry I can't be more concise. From the 50's British Horror movie boom.

My favorite ghost movie was The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. It is black and white but not the type of scary you are thinking. You may like it. Try rent it from Hollywood Rentals.
