I am going to assume right now that you are from the Americas but not from the United States, and so you are calling what people from the United States would call "American" contributions "North American" contributions. I hope I am right because I know very little about what Mexico and Canada think about their contributions to the world.

I am proud of Dr. Martin Luther King, the harsh but tactful diplomacy of the Cold War, and the Truman doctine, but you said non-political. So, I will say, sociologically, democratic republics in general. France made democratic republics look like a militant bloodbath, and the U.S. proved in the early stages that a country could have democracy and compromise, and avoid civil war doing it. The U.S. proved factionalism in government did not have to mean fighting, and I think that is a great contribution to humanity. I am proud of Dr. Martin Luther King returning religion to the consideration of how society should function. I am proud of the patriotism of Americans but the nationalism sometimes scares me. I am proud of this nation being one of the first to extend voting rights to women. The United States biggest contribution to humanity, however, might be Coca-Cola. It's everywhere. hehe.

Jazz and Rock music are the greatest North American contribution to humanity. It didn't come from any one source but was a unique blending of many different styles by many different artists.

us of a had a intense backlash reaction to bill Clinton's egotistical romps, and Al Gore's a strategies left milk-toast marketing campaign - it really is how George W Bush were given in. alongside with Karl Rove's technique of wedge topics, dumbing down the electorate, and "social convervatives", the politics of divisiveness. Then got here 9/eleven and the paranoia fueled the flames of pink vs Blue, us vs them. yet, as Barack pronounced, that element has come to an in intensity and an era of wish and restored sanity began.
