False Positive HPT?

My husband and I are trying to conceive, I am 3 months off of the pill. My last period was Dec. 31st and we have been trying all month, regularly. I took a Clear Blue HPT and it was negative, but I have been having tender breasts, bloating, hungry all the time, emotional... maybe just wishful thinking! What are the chances of a false negative? Anyone had this problem?

3 of my 5 pregnancys were negative at first test. I did not show preg on a pee test until several monts along. (I still had cycles too) Try again in a few days! If still no cycle.........go to doc for a blood test

If this is your first time trying...I am in the same boat. But regardless of that...trying and waiting is the worst! I have heard of false negatives are more often than false positives. Some times you can test too early and your hcg level is not high enough for the test to detect. Every woman is different and sometimes it will take almost two months into the pregnancy to finally get a positive reading...but most can get a reading a week or two after their missed period. I would suggest to test a week before you next period, and a week after. Remember the mind is pretty powerful and can often trick our bodies into believing it is something that it isn't. I've been down the road you are on...and after 12, yup, 12 hpt I finally got my period. But I am not bummed too much, I keep in mind that the spirits above know when the time is right and I can't fight them. Best wishes and Baby dust to you!

Anything can happen. If you check and it was negative wait a little longer and get tested again. Only time will tell. Remember that after the week of conceiving your pregnancy hormone increase by two each day so that means by now it's suppose to be notice. Now you could also get the blood test. It's a sure bet.
