Is it true that kids who are breast fed have weaker bones than kids who are given milk from a bottle??? I heard it somewhere and was wondering if it was true. I can see how it could be. It's possible that breast milk has less vitamins in it or whatever. I'm just curious because my friend was breast fed & I was fed from a bottle. She has broken many of her bones & I haven't broken 1. I don't know, it is possible that she could just have weaker bones than me. I was just wondering but would appreciate a response. Thanks!

Absolutely not. Formula is based on cow's milk and will NEVER be better for human infants than mothers milk. If your myth were true, then our ancestors should have died out from brittle bones since bottle feeding is a fairly recent addition to our culture. You friend either has a health problem or just lives a more vigorous lifestyle and hence the numberous broken bones.

NO! breast milk is actually alot healthier and more beneficial to a baby because it has the mother's antibodies and it is specifically formulated for that baby...your friend may be more clumsy or your friend could also not drink as much milk as you or she may even have a bone disorder...but what you heard is not true about formula being healthier for babies

Actually, breast milk is better.

"Breast-fed infants have lower rates of hospital admissions, ear infections, diarrhea, rashes, allergies, and other medical problems than bottle-fed babies."
It is more easily digested. And bottlefeeding, causes constipation and more gas.

Both have ample amounts of calcium. What you ate as an infant would not have an impact on bone development. Your friend may not get enough calcium now, or may have thinner bones.
