Hope this doesn' t appear twice as I did sumbit. Sorry if it has!!! Unless you are a VERY young aunt I can't think why you are asking this question. We all know 'Money doesn't buy happiness' However, I appreciate your concern but at 18 there is so little you can do about it as she will think 'She knows everything" Hopefully she has at least one caring parent but if not I realise the burden you are carrying. There is nothing you can do at present, just be there for her when she needs you and it's 99% certain she will. Sad fact that it is it takes real heartache for some people to 'grow up' but sometimes having learned a lesson they are the better person for it Good luck!

For tens of millions, yes. For one or two million, NO. Quality of life and security are good things to have, but I'd like to make my own money, partly because I'd have more control and feel less inferior - men who know a girl is going out with them for money tend to use them and treat them as disposable and married men in these situations are more likely to have an affair or mistreat their wife. Advise your niece. Although she probably won't listen, you can always say "I told you so". Most men with money aren't worth it.

No. I wouldn't ever do that. I would rather be with someone that is caring, lovable and broke. Than someone who is mean, ignorant and rich. I mean if hes kind, caring, lovable and rich. well than she just got lucky. But if it's his money she wants. The relationship isn't going to ork out really well. She should marry him because she love him. Not because hes rich. That would be a terrible life to lead.

There is more to a person than money- that is like a gold digger if you marry them for their riches. She could marry someone rich who is a complete asshole. I would prefer someone who treats me like a lady and with respect and would love me and do anything i asked him. Money is nice! but we cant have it all!

There is nothing wrong with her dating guys with money... perhaps she will fall in love with one of them one day... she is just trying to avoid a life of misery because of finances...

Many marriages have failed because of money issues. Eliminate the issue of money and it removes the cause of 40% of divorces.

Yes.

I have grown up around arguements about money. I don't want to live like that and i sure as hell don't want my future kids to live like that...

Not PURELY for money though....

But the guy i marry WILL be well off...

All my life i've met men with not much to offer. Now that i'm older i've raised my standards. i would'nt be with a man just for his money, but it would be nice to be spoiled for once.
