I'm only 13, but I'm way (when I mean way, I mean WAY) younger than everyone else in my classes, so I need to pick out the courses I'll need for my future career. I really have no idea! My parents want me to become a doctor or something that makes money. Recently, I was fooling around with my friends and I was "interviewing" them with a magazine as a microphone, and they were really suprised with my voice, and i'm not camera shy, at all. I don't get embarrassed at all. They suggested me to become a host or actress! I like that idea, but what if I fail drastically? Or I could really have an awesome career. I myself WANTED to be a scientist, but i'm not too sure now. Help! If you guys could give me any suggestions on a career (one of the above or an interesting one) and give me some positive and negative points about it, that would be wonderful! I know you might think this is stupid asking ppl for help on MY career, but I'm not really going 2 do what you say, unless it sounds good! thnx!

A job that makes you a lot of money should not be your first concern. Make a list of things you like to do and school subjects you like, then think about what kinds of careers you can have that involves them. Your parents may think you are wasting your life by wanting to be a television journalist, but if it makes you happy, that is what you should be doing. This is what I've told my daughters ever since they were old enough to understand that people have to work for a living, and they are about your age.

OK first go with your heart. Only you know what you like and what you dream. Second and this may help go to an assesment site. Answer the questions and check the results. It will tell you what you'll be good at. I did and now i'm working towards getting that goal. It told me to be a teacher or a psychologist. Two careers i've looked at since i was a very young child.

in high school what you take doesn't really matter. Good schools care about you challenging yourself and getting decent grades in the courses you take. Most schools want 4 years of english courses, 3-4 of science (2 of life sciences), 3-4 of math, 2-3 of social sciences like history or psych. Just take as many courses as you can handle, your parents seem to be pretty ambitious so its probably rubbed off on you and you can probably handle a full course load. email me with questions if you want
