By the sounds of it I'd go with the high jump and the 210 hurdles (or whatever your longer distance would be). If you liked high jump then long jump is fun too (that's what I did).
Then they'll probably want you to run another regular distance. If you're not that fast then maybe try a longer distance (do you have good endurance?) maybe the 400? The 800 is tough because it's an all out sprint the whole way but that's pretty long.
Or you could just stick with the standard 100m and get that out of the way and focus on your field events (jumping).
Whatever you do, have fun!

I think the 300 m hurdles, 400 m dash, and 800 m run require the most work. If you are dedicated enough, you can become a standout at any of these, given you background. You might also revisit the high jump, as well as pole vault. Good luck!

Try all of them out!!! Your height would give you an advantage in the high jump, but that's not a good reason to narrow yourself to jumping only. And just because you're not super fast right now doesn't mean that you won't gain speed if you work on it. And plus your'e only a freshman, you've still got a lot of growing to do. Definitely try a bunch of events out and go with whichever seems to call your name.

If you keep working at it you could probably get better at it. You just have to keep practicing. It would be a good thing for you're health. Just do what you think you should do, not what we think you should do. I don't know a lot about track so i don't really know the different things you can run! Sorry I couldn't help on that one. But just remember..Do what YOU want to do. Not what we think you should do. Practice makes perfect!!! Good Luck

You make it sound like you enjoy sports, and when you tried track you liked it, but you weren't very good. You say you're not very fast, so what you should do is start running on a regular basis to build your up stamina. When you think you're ready, try going out for long distance. Good luck!
