Wouldn't you expect a president who claims to love the troops to send in extra supplies (tanks, guns, etc) simultaneously as he sends in thousands of extra soldiers?
Our president has a VERY idiotic plan. Now do you conservatives see why we call him an idiot?

birdsnake, you have always been one of the most brainwashed republicans on Y!A. You are just angry because you can't defend the president against what I just said. Now if you know you are wrong birdsnake, which I know you do, then be humble and just do us all a favor by just shutting up.

wookie, the president isn't supposed to mention food and clothes for the troops, he is SUPPOSED TO propose the extra supplies to be sent as he simultaneously proposes to send in more troops. Bush wants to send in more troops very soon and he has NOT worked out the details of the extra supplies to be sent. DUH! Pay attention, ok?

Good question, he is sending these additional 38,000 troops ( he lied when he said it was only 21,500 in the State of the Union speech) with 40% of the equipment they need. He is diverting money that is to replace the decaying equipment that is there now to bolster this debacle. His own GAO and NIE show that he lied yet again to the American people and support that needs to go to Afghanistan to find the SOB that orchestrated the attack on us is being funneled towards this ever growing nightmare. He loves to talk about supporting the troops. Actions always speak louder than words and he could not care less. When it appears that he is heartless, they have him do something public, he sheds a few crocodile tears to pretend he really cares then he sends them back without proper mental support as well as inadequate equipment. It is a sad commentary when parents and strangers have to buy body armor, helmet reinforcements to our troops only to have them be told they can't use them to save their lives because they government did not issue it. They support the troops, yet when they there were wounded soldiers at Walter Reed, they were asked to pay for meals Huh! Go figure

Why is it that you short-sighted, ignorant, clueless liberals always need everything spelled out in black and white, step-by-step in order to get anything done?
Maybe since the President didn't say we were sending food for the extra 21,500 troops that they are going to have to cannibalize in order to live. He also didn't say that they were getting clothes so I guess we will now have 21,500 soldiers fighting naked.
Here is yet one more lesson on what is REALLY happening over there. The major equipment like planes, tanks, heavy weapons, artillery is already there. The TASKING of what the extra troops will do will determine what equipment they will use. Now who knows best what will be needed on the ground? Maybe the commanders who are in charge in the theaters where the action is. Nah, that's too simple for liberals. Or maybe we should broadcast all of our tactics, and strategies to our enemies. Hey the NY Times already does that. HMMMMM!!!!!

I agree with you here. He still has a losing plan. Just as the war has always been. instead of sending things that the soldiers could use, parents of soldiers are doing drives asking for blankets, etc to send their sons or daughters and the unit they are in blankets. There was this one mother who put together a drive for donations to buy silly string to send to the troops. They have found a new way to find trip wires in homes they were going in to raid by spraying the silly string in windows and doors before entering the house or building , instead of using a soldiers body to find the wires. familys have put together drives to purchase blankets and socks etc for the troops. But instead of Bush using some of the billions he spent on "fighting" this war or some of the extra billions he is asking for, to use to give the troops blankets etc. he just wants to spend all of that money on more bloodshed. american and iraqi blood.
Bush wouldn't know a good plan if it slaped him in the face. and the sad thing about it, some of his puppets believe every word that comes out of his mouth.

The war in Iraq has been a joke from the very beginning. The war in Afghanistan was the justified war in response to 9/11, not the one in Iraq. It is clear from evidence that has come and is coming out that this administration told bold-faced lies to the American public and Congress to get us into this mess. Once in, they had no real plan what to do other than to occupy the country -- why do you think we are spending close to half a billion dollars building a military base there?

My husband is in one of those "extra" troops that you're talking about and to the best of my knowledge, he's not walking around shooting terrorists with his fingers. The only extra supplies that his troop has been asking for is Doritos and candy bars. When you join the military, let me know. Then I might take your bs more seriously.

Well, why should he start doing the sane thing now? What would that do toward further entrenching the neocons in Washington. He has been an unmitigated disaster for American interests since he started.

He reminds me of a guy who has a losing hand at a Texas Hold'em table that goes all in against a pair of aces. What is tragic is that he's going all in with my kids, and yours. His girls have never met a recruiter.
