None as head coaches. I bet there have been many African american assistants.

Romeo Crennel with the Patriots is the one I remember right off the top of my head.

Yes but never a Black Head Coach. How ever there had been a many Black people that played various positions that had played in the Superbowl. However the media did make a super Hyped ordeal when the NFL featured it's first Black Quarterback. However since he was the only Black Quarterback he had to play against a White Quarterback & won the superbowl. What I think is weird is the NFL is featuring 2 Black Coaches, 1 Dark Black Coach & 1 Light Black Head Coach. (To people that never follow football might think Dungy is white). I see the racism the media is ploting, but no matter who wins the game football history will happen. Both teams have 1Black Head coach 1 White Quarterback. so no matter how you sum it up it will appear. that the Black Head Coaches have more confidence in White Quaterbacks. Now this will set the stage for an eppisode later in life, when people complain about something else.
Don't take my word for it but check this out, teams with mixed evenly on offense with White & Black Players when more games

No this is why ESPN and other networks have made such a big deal about this. I think they are overhyping this a little bit. I am a big fan for equal rights but all you hear for two weeks is the first black coaches to get into the Superbowl, when they should have waited and asked how does it feel to be the first black coach to win the Superbowl.
