if your late, i would ask your doctor about inducing labor because after 42 weeks the placenta starts to deteriorate and can be harmful to the baby. There is really nothing you can do to help speed it up. If the baby does not want to come out, its not going to come out.

Since your due date can be off by two weeks either way, its best to wait until baby decides to come on its own. If you go past 42 weeks, then you can talk about inducing. They can also test the placenta to see if its breaking down and becoming insufficiant as well.
Sex, nipple stimulation, and walking are the only *real* ways to help move labor along. Fortunatly, baby won't come until they're ready.

i am sure if you are getting prenatel care with your doctor he will suggest induction really soon its not good to go to overdue.
but in the mean time go hire an eletric breastpump and use that for a while this will work beleive me im a midwife this is what we do at the hospital on some mothers who only want a natural birth without drugs to stimulate there labor.
dont worry about the colostrum coming out it will not run out and there will be plenty of colostrum left for bubby.
ive heard so many ladies say oh no if i do that my baby wong get colostrum lol.
your body will only produce colostrum up untill around day 3 of your babies life do that and you will be holding your little baby in ni time let me no how you went goodluck.

Can they not induce you and break your water for you. Thats what they did with my first son..i think he would have stayed in there forever if we had not sped things up a bit. I carried him for 42 weeks. Good Luck.

You poor lady!!!! My guess is that they were wrong on your due date and your little one will come soon!!! The thing to remember is that this is not forever. Maybe try some calming exercises to let your body relax and do its thing.. Good luck and congrats on the baby......

I think these are just tales...I dont think any of those things really work. you just have to let nature take its course. And I know how you feel. I was four days late and I thought i was going to die. They finally induced me and I had my son that day. Have you asked your doc about inducing. I know they don't really like to unlees they have to but it wouldn't hut to mention it.
