Can you open a salon with out going to beauty school, and how? I know I couldn't do hair or anything, I would just want to own and manage the shop. Would you make money that way??

Every state has different laws pertaining to this. You may be able to be partial owner but you need an operator's license. You can go to school for that. Also consider getting a manicurist's license or an esthetician's license instead of the full blown cosmetologist. The other two take considerably less time and money. YES you can get pizzaid!!! owning a salon! Best wishes!!

It would pretty much depend on the rules for your state or city. A lot of places have ordinances in effect that you can't open without a license, and you can't get the license without the needed education in the subject. Putting chemicals on propels heads is not something to be done by someone with no training.

First you would need enough money to start it up:
to get the premises
to set it up & decorate suitably
to get the stock
to hire the staff
to hire an accountant and set up business accouts etc etc
and still have plenty of funds left to get you through the early stages of the business
You really need to know & understand the legal aspects of the business - safety, insurance for accidents, rights & reponsibilties of management & staff etc etc.
Also it would definitely be best if you know the business - you should have solid training in the beauty business.

You really need a license to open any business and I think you need a cosmetologist's license to have a beauty salon.

no you have to go to beauty school yo have to know whats going on etc. i work for the police dont do that big trouble lady

Well, people will want to see a certificate of some sort to know ur qualified for whatever it is you do.
