We're not. Much like your formal penal colony of a country, the U.S. is fairly new on the world map. Many other countries, continents, and cultures have been at war far more frequently than the U.S. You should pull your head out of the billabong for a moment and read a bit of world history. If you further research conflict involving the U.S., you will also find that the majority of military conflict has been entered while under a Democratic president.

Why do Australians seem to be obsessed with kangaroos and speaking with an annoying accent? you are born into it.
Other than us being the lightning rod for terrorist attacks and the hate of most of the world, we are the scapegoat of many countries problems. Foreign leaders seem to find ways to blame us for problems within their own countries, and I'm talking about countries we aren't bombing.
Most of our heroes are war heroes, our history is one of great violence. The only reason we are a country is because we went to war, and the revolution set a path that we continue to be on.

Excuse me I am also Australian. I don't think we should be the pot calling the kettle black here. Just tune in to the hoop la and jingoism that you hear at Anzac Day, or do the Gallipoli pilgrimage thing. I am all for honouring the servicemen and women (I have a son in the Australian Army) but I feel we have gone a bit beyond that in this country in recent years.

LOL, coming from a country that started off as a penal colony and you have a problem with war? That's too funny. The Muslims are trying to take over your country and you'd just let them right?
If you think I'm buying that BS, you'd have a banger short of a barbie!

Because most are dramatic, self important windbags that have never actually seen violence but think it's a good thing. Once they do face it they run scared.
