Yeah. pretty much. But they were in awe of Jimi Hendrix. If Clapton is the King of guitars, then Hendrix was the God of guitars. (no blasphemy intended.)

Those are classic big names... George Harrison is supposed to have been pretty good, but not as renowned as they were, and with Lennon I think it was more about the attitude and approach rather than sheer guitar talent. I agree with the bloke saying Hendrix was bigger... well, they reckoned he was too, so who am I to argue?

some top guitarists here but there are many others out there
jimi hendix still blows me away i did my own hendrix cd so i often
put a set of cans headphones on crash out on my couch or bed in total darkness and let jimi go though a room full of mirrors hey baby new rising son pali gap a mermaid should i should turn to be a live vesion of stars that play with laughing sams dice etc

try it listen to electric ladyland in total darkness then tell yourself these are songs from the sixties then you will realise there will only ever be one hendrix

Well chosen axe men here...All these guys are top players in the field in their day. They all have left land marks! Most guitarists of today will have listened to their licks at somepoint and will have certainly emulated certain aspects of their styles! Good choice of guitarists you have chosen...Well done. P.S. I would love to see how you people can compare one guitarist against another . It always amazes me. Does it work on a "points" system or something?
