I asked a girl at school if she spread rumors about me and she pretended she didn't. But I know she did. She suddenly doesn't call or anything anymore. I don't understand why she is pretending she did not do this. Why do people think they can lie and stuff still have your friendship?

People typically spread rumors because they are insecure, and depending on your age, it may just be that they feel pressured by their peers to start or continue these rumors.

This girl who was talking behind your back might have been startled by your confrontation. Denial is one way of her dealing with the fact that she was caught doing something she knew she shouldn't be doing. She could be asking for forgiveness by trying to maintain a friendship with you, so this leaves you in a position where you will have to decide what she is worth to you. If this isn't the case and she is still speaking ill of you, then it is probably best that you end the relationship there and not give her anything more to talk about.

Try to resist the urge to do something in retaliation, as this only reflects bad on your character. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

In the words of Madea: "Honey, folks are gonna talk about you 'til the day you die, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's not what they call you--it's what you answer to." Though it's been 8 years since I was 13, I can imagine that girls are still the same as they were when I was young--petty, jealous, and always looking to stir up trouble with other girls. You know who you are and what is true and untrue about you. If girls pretend to be your friend one day and then are talking behind your back the next, they aren't real friends and you need to avoid them. Your true friends will not believe the lies that they are spreading, and as long as YOU know that they are lying, it doesn't matter what others think of you. Keep your head up high, and don't let the haters get you down.

Because they have nothing better to do... they are worthless peices of crap.. at least you are not the one spreading them. just stay true to yourself and stay away. I know it hurts but you are prolly a good person just dont get involved in that!

alot of people are immature...it's as simple as that.

she might be mad at you for something and it makes her feel better to talk **** about you. talking behind someone's back shows lack of class and you shouldn't waste your time with her anymore...

people like her aren't worth getting upset over

Some people don't take friendships seriously, They do unto others as they THINK others would do unto them.

because people love to gossip and talk about one another and to listen too. Don'ttake this bad example into your system. They are just jealous about you.
