I believe you--I always close the lid (with clean toilet paper between my hand and the lid) before flushing (which I also do with toilet paper)

Maybe those little blue disks would help. Or putting the lid down first then flush.

Uh, yes. That's why there is a lid....you put it down first before flushing.
