Tell your family that the laptop will help you with school and that you're trying hard to save money. Ask if your parents will match the money you put toward it, like can they pay 50 cents for every dollar you save. If you do your part, and don't expect them to pay for the whole thing, they might agree.
Talk to your babysitting client and see if they can recommend anyone else who needs a babysitter. People with kids usually know each other so maybe they can hook you up with some other clients! You could make up some "cards" with your name, "experienced babysitter", and your phone number and give a few of them to your babysitting client, that way it's very easy for them to pass on to their friends.
Also, you might be able to sell things on ebay. Look around your room and see if there's anything that has value that you don't really need and that other people might want. Like if you had a camera and then got a newer one, you could sell the old one. Or you could sell your CDs (you won't get full price of course but you can get a dollar or two per CD, which can add up). You will probaby need an adult to help you with the PayPal account, shipping etc. But ebay is really easy to use.

Stay away from any websites that say you will make money online. Stay away from anything that sounds too good to be true. And especially stay away from anything where you pay money and what you end up doing is going to be a surprise.
That said, what I would do, in addition to some very good suggestions here, is write up a paragraph explaining that you'd like to earn money for a laptop and offer to do cleaning, mowing, yard work, moving, etc. Put these signs up in your neighborhood. I read one in my local neighborhood where these 2 teenagers were working together to make money by offering these services. Had I had something for them to do, like an upcoming move, I would have called. I am positive you'll find takers and earn the money for your laptop in no time.
Make sure that you have someone help you write it. Only put your name and phone number and say that your services are available only to people living in your neighborhood. This allows you to get to them on foot because I'm assuming you do not have a car.
Good Luck. Maybe your parents will help you and that would be a bonus but count on earning the total sum on your own. You have a bright future ahead of you if you're willing to work for something!

I wish you all the luck. You will be a success when you grow up.... Not relying on anyone but yourself to succeed... Brilliant and well done. As a father, if I had a daughter that eager I would give her jobs around the house and pay her.... to help her buy the laptop. I just gave my daughter a lap top AND a table top and now I feel a failure of a father after reading your question. I wish you well.

Well the best thing I can say is don't limit yourself with just babysitting. Try doing other things like house cleaning, yard work, maybe even pet sitting. Also tell your parents what your trying to do and maybe they can help by telling co-workers, friends and even other family members. Hope this helps, good luck

Why do u want a laptop so bad anyways? Can't u just wait for college? Then they'll be really nice and high-tech; PLUS your parents might buy for u! Okay anyways, you could go on ebay! Or look on google or apple.com (I think). Well hope ya find one and don't waste ALL your time on the computer.

why don't you ask your relatives (aunts/uncles/grandparents) if you can dust and vacuum their homes?......
When I was young...... I always used to dust and vacuum my aunts place.... I also cleaned out her car..... I got between $10 - $20 each time!!!
