President Chavez celebrates 8 years of elected (not selected)power tomorrow. He is a hero to millions of people in and out of Venezuela.

Bush however commands the respect of NO ONE.... Can you argue with that? I look forward to it.

Bush and Tricky Dicky (the most corrupt President ever) have four things in common: both are known egomaniacs, both have had Rumsfeld and Cheney in their administration (and a few other lesser idiots), and both are Dictators (but Tricky Dicky was an intelligent man who didn't have a Daddy Bush to cover for him or use his influence to help his retard son) and corrupt administrations.

Chavez is hated because he refuses to let greedy American companies enter his country to rape his land by polluting and contaminating the lands and waters and stealing the country's resources without helping the people! THAT is why he is hated... not by me... he called Dubya a few foul names and that is not his business to do... that's OUR place to call Dubya an idiot!

The only ones who seem most resentful here are those sheeps that believe and follow KIng Dubya Bush. They resent that Chavez won't kiss Dubya's fanny like the rest of the sheep in this country that kiss the land he craps on!

Yeah, Bush was "elected"... under questionable circumstances both times! First, the many votes that were not counted, not even from those serving in the military in the same state where his brother is the governor... sounds suspiciously like a conspiracy to me; why were ALL the votes counted if it was going to be called a FAIR election? Then, especially in Ohio, we discovered that the companies that served the electronic voting machines had lucrative contracts with the government, and it was shown that regardless of who the people voted for, the machines were rigged to total in favor of Dubya! And in pricincts were the residents were known Democrats, there were consistently many defective and inoperative voting machines that caused very long lines just to cast a vote... to discourage voters, perhaps? And this was reported throughout the United States! Shown on TV. Yeah, Dubya was "elected..." what a goddamned sham!

OK Bush may be a lame duck president if we go by what has recently has been happening. Bush has many faults, but to compare him to Hitler is just riduculous.

Chavez, meh I don't really know much about, but for my comfort zone I have an uneasy feeling about him.

This love-in affair many of the world have for Chavez because of his anti-american stance reminds me a lot of how Che Guevera is portrayed as a glorified hero, when in truth he was a ruthless murderer that even Castro wanted nothing to do with.

All I'm saying I would careful about getting too cozy with Chavez.

Bush and Chavez have more in common than either will admit. They each have a base of supporters that they cater to in order to stay in power. With Chavez he gives the poor just enough to make them think that they are doing better under his programs. Bush on the other hand makes the christian right think that he is advancing their social agenda. If the poor in Venezuela were to turn their backs on Hugo he would be out. Bush has lost significant support since the 2004 election. However since he can't run again it's not an issue.

This goes beyond perception, however; in an era of one party rule in Washington, it is essential that the media maintain a skeptical eye on the government. When this doesn't occur, the nation suffers. What happened during the late 1960s underscores this point as major news organizations failed to question claims about the situation in Vietnam from members of the Johnson administration. The consequences today could be equally troubling should the media continue its complicity in the Bush spin game.

The success of the American Democracy relies on a fully functioning and, more importantly, entirely independent media. Reporters on the dole from the administration and local stations running video news releases that amount to Bush ads serve only to undermine our government, not to strengthen it. Change in the media will not come quickly, and although blogs are playing a significant role in goading the big players into action, much more must be done so the Fox News model does not continue to take hold. The stakes are high in this battle. The fate of the nation depends on it.

My hat goes off to President Chavez for truthfully describing dicktator bush as the devil, for he truly is the most hated person in the entire world. He is a complete idiot, a liar and murderer. He stole elections in both 2000 and 2004 and he thinks nothing of trampling on the Constitution to violate everyone of its laws. The fact that most politicians in South America hate his guts also is a testament to their intelligence.
President Chavez donates oil for the poor people in the US while dumbya gives tax breaks to his buddies in the oil corporations.
I would have to say Chavez has more respect than our pathetic evil dicktator.

And with each year Chavez moves closer to becoming a total dictator in the Castro fashion. President Bush may have fumbled it on the war, but he has not attempted to subvert our constitution in an attempt to slip into total power. Bush and the previous men that have held the office have always(and not always done well) attempted to help the spread of freedom to oppressed people around the world. With each resolution in the Venezuelan government the people lose a little more of their opportunity to live as free people each day.

LOL. You put this in the wong category. Surely you meant to put it in riddles and jokes. Chavez is a loon. He attempted to gain power his first time around by force, but his coup attempt failed. Now he has attained power by playing the venzuelan people for fools. I don't have TOO much sympathy for them...they got what they asked for. Even wikipedia is clear that he is a loose canon.

Chávez's reforms have evoked exceptional controversy in Venezuela and abroad, receiving both criticism and praise. Venezuelans are split between those who say he has empowered the poor and stimulated economic growth, and those who say he is autocratic and has mismanaged the economy.[3] Some foreign governments, such as the United States Government, view Chávez as a threat to global oil prices and regional stability[4].

Yeah, consolidating all power of the government for himself shows real respect for his citizens and their so-called "democracy". What about the 150,000 people who protested his reelection. Going before the general assembly of the United Nations and calling the President of the country that continues to give his nation economic assistance the devil is a great way to show respect and gratitude for that aid and business. Running a communist government that deprives people of the basic right to be rewarded for extra effort, and instead relegates everyone down to the same status regardless of their drive and determination to become something in life, that is a great way of showing respect of basic human nature. Bankrupting the Venezuelan economy to the point that 80% of their entire income has to be made by the exportation of oil is a great way for him to show respect to the concept of responsible government management. Let me guess "oh but he builds hospitals in poor neighborhoods". Guess what, he's made Venezuela so poor that if he builds a hospital at all it's in a poor neighborhood.

Hugo has become friends, and established political, diplomatic, and economic ties with the radical ultra theists who control Iran, a nation that continues to sponsor terrorism, and executes people for violating the Qu'ran, like the two gay teenagers who were hanged in 2004.

It is sad to see how low and knowlege void a human mind, like yours, can become. Bush was ELECTED into office, and if you knew a damn thing about the U.S. Constitution, you would know the the 2000 Presidential election was precisely how the forefarthers decided it should be in a situtation like that. Venezuela lost their bid to become a temporary member of the UN Security Council because of what he said about Bush, so your little assertion that he holds anyones respect doesn't hold air. The only people who support him are the poor, illiterate, factory workers in his country because he promises to redistribute the wealth among everyone.

Your not worth anymore of my time you loser.
