My boyfriend had to stay the night because we had a terrible snow storm last night (we slept in separate bedrooms), and when he came down this morning, my dad was sitting at the table cleaning his gun! It was hilarious to see my bf's eyes go wide and his face go white b/c he knows that my dad is a pretty good shot considering he just killed a coyote yesterday from 300 ft away w/o his glasses on (coyote was old, mangy, and killing our guinea hens to explain so that I don't offend any animal lovers out there). So there truly was a valid reason for my dad to be cleaning his gun, but him cleaning it when my bf walks into the room was definitely like something out of a movie or that you would read in a magazine. Have a better day tomorrow!

I had a bad day yesterday and so I took my dog to the dog park and while we were there I knelt down to pet my dog (she is disabled) and soon many of the other dogs at the park kept taking turns sitting on my lap for hugs and bum-scratches, including a rottweiler that weighs as much as I do. I had never even met some of the dogs. Dogs always cheer me up.

Another cutesy dog story: a couple of days ago I was playing with my dog and being silly and said, "Are you my baby girl? High-five if you are my baby girl!" She is only 11 months and high-five is her only good trick due to her bad hips and elbows and she ALWAYS responds. This time she actually rolled her eyes at me and just sat there. So I said, "Okay, are you my BIG girl? High-five if you are my BIG girl!" She gave me a big doggie grin and swung her paw up to meet my hand.

I was in the supermarket, standing in the "forever" queue, wishing I was swaying on a hammock on a secluded sun drenched island, then realised that this little girl, with the most prettiest face, was staring and smiling at me. That's what made my day.

My brother is 17 and I am 19, he is a very talented rower, when his coach came to visit us she walked right up to me and said "You must be Marisa, Aleks sister, he talks about you and how talented and beautiful your voice is all the time, he is so proud of you."And my brother didn't deny it he just said "Yes, because she is really talented." It was so nice to know my brother does not diss me to his friends behind his back like other young boys I know do, and I swear I will walk on air all day.
