Make sure you get it edited as agents and publishers don't like reading unedited material. Below is a link to a really good editor that I use.
Finally don't give up if a publisher should knock back your work the first time as some of the greatest writers ever were rejected hundreds of times! Just keep trying and remember that re-writing your manuscript will continually improve your story.

Once it is finished get a friend or two to proof read it & critique it. Join a writter's club... they're great. Find an agent to do the footwork for you to get it published.

go to lulu.com and you can get anything published, set your own commission and they offer their own distribution service for about $100, where it will be posted on sites like barnes and noble and borders. Good Luck!
