Morning pages. Every morning, first thing you do is write down three pages about what is on your mind.

Then, in an agenda, plan your day. This will help you get distracting things off your mind and focus better.

You might want to repeat the same thing when you go to sleep at night. Just clear your mind, and plan the next day.

When you are reading look for one main point in each paragraph and highlight it. It teaches you not to let your mind wonder. When you get to the end of a page ask yourself did you mark the most important part of that page . Go back and look again.
When you finished the book get a tape recorder and read just those highlighted lines. Listen to the tape as often as you think you need to retain the knowledge,On test day play the tape just before going in to take the test. The more you practice the better you will get at what you need to highlight.

Write notes to yourself. Make lists. Keep them in a simple spiral notebook. Keep the notebook with you. I use one with calendar pages and write on the date. Use those tiny post it flags to mark really important stuff. Don't keep it in your backpack. Carry it with you in a purse.
