Yes.. i compared him to my father.. My father is not only a wonderful father, but a wonderful husband to my mom.. and ive never seen a man ever in my life, so close to perfection as my father, ...
Unfortunately although my husband is a wonderful man.. he still doesnt compare to my father.. but he has alot of the same traits.. so he came alot closer then all the losers of my past..

Yes, of course I compared him to other people... I still do... And he "comes out ahead" every time. Thinking back to other people I had dated, I really scored with him. I am grateful every day, and appreciate him all the more because I have something to compare him with.

I compared him to the ex-hole (married 24 years) that dumped me.....and my new hubby came out a bajillion times better!
Smarter, better looking, more fun, more in tune with me, kinder, more honorable, funnier, just BETTER. The ex did me a favor by leaving!

i knew to look for in a mate(ex-husband was a toad). my new husband appeared to be slightly off kilter and i tried to ignore him. but he was persistent on trying me to go out with him. after a couple of dates i began to fall for him. six years later we got married. my ex comes around to see the kids and i look at them both and go wow i did damn good.

You should always compare them to your parents, consciously or unconsciously.
