Of course I know what a hermaphrodite is. I'm not that stupid unlike some people.
Hermaphrodite is neither a guy or a girl!

Teacher is right--- its mean. And probably not true, as there are few actual hermaphrodites in the world and most are not very happy about it if they are one.
Kids always call other kids names-- Just remember how it feels to be on the receiving end of the name calling--- so try to temper your name calling by using names that are funny. Most people will feel really badly about being called something that demeans them--- and they'll remember it long after you have forgotten what you said.
It can be cool to be kind, too, you know--
Now if the guy is a real jerk with a huge ego that torments others--- fire away! He can use some humbling. But otherwise, be gentle--- you can seriously harm a person with your words.

Yes, you should probably call them a cab instead.

Uh, a hermaphrodite is BOTH, stupid.

"aww poor sensitive people!"

Aww, poor sensitive YOU.

Do you know the meaning of the word hermaphrodite? Name calling is not a thing that a nice young lady should be doing, but i guess you didn't learn that at home. You should consider to give your classmate an apology. Remember that nobody likes to be offended, and you can be the next one on somebody list.
Good luck and grow up

No, it's not wrong. It's just how you naturally are. You can't change it, and those therapists and camps that promise to "cure" homosexuality don't work anyway. Trying to make yourself something you're not will just lead to heartache and depression. Homosexuality is natural. You seem to know this instinctively about yourself, but you probably don't know that scientific studies confirm it. Much of your sexual orientation is the result of your own natural genetics and hormones. Homosexuality has even been observed in nature in wolves, swans, dolphins, lions, and plenty of other species. Not all women who like women are masculine or want their relationships to be "radical" or "edgy." Many are just like you, very feminine and sensitive, and preferring old-fashioned relationships. The Bible forbids many things that people often do today. It forbids women from teaching men, for instance, and nobody today considers that to be immoral. Point that out to anyone who uses the bible to say that homosexuality is wrong. Finally, a word from my personal experience. I'm bi, and for the longest time, I couldn't accept myself because of it. I suppressed all my attractions to women. As a result, I wound up single for a long time, and attracted to no one. Only when I accepted myself could I have good relationships. I now have a boyfriend, but I've had crushes on girls in the past and kissed girls, too. And I don't regret it at all.

I don't know if calling him that was the correct word to use.

Jerk, maybe? Dog?

If he doesn't possess both sex organs, then hermaphrodite is the wrong word to use.

Unless the person actually was an hermaphrodite, yes it's wrong.
Calling anyone names is mean....sorry you didn't learn that in school.

Looks like you'll have major problems when you grow up.

Was that too liberal for ya?

Of course not. People don't seem to think it is wrong to call a person a ******* so why should they care about being called a hermaphrodite!

Using the word as you did is an attack on that person's sexuality. Attacking someone's sexuality is sexual harassment, and would get you fired from a job in the real world. How many tv's are there in your parents' house????

Not if they are a hermaphrodite. I dont know, I would, it may be mean but its f"ing funny.. I giggled alot, I may just call everyone hermaphrodite, it will insult less people than when you call people gay, because there are more homos then hermas. LOL

The preffered term is intersexed if in fact the person in question was that. I definitely think either way you could use some manners.
