It was a very respectful question, in which I was seeking a real answer, to an issue that has puzzled me. They didn't post it at all. How can this be fair? What so now they pick and chose what to post from questions? They've also been sending me violations on Qs or As that by now way are violating. I mean I'm the first to admit it when I've committed a community guide violations, but sometimes it's just NONSENSE. I complained to them many times now, and they still haven't responded! The question in question was about the Jewish and Muslim Faiths. So can I do something?

You may not think hat this is important, but the truth is that there is no democracy in this community. If they chose what to post and what not to post then they are deciding on behalf of us what we want to read, and limiting our freedom to nil, by making the posting of our questions a gift or act of graciousness that they decide to commit! Also, it's very worrying that they (this site) seem to allow there political views interfere with civil liberties, and freedom to speech.

Why is the word Jews wrong? Why isn't Muslims, or Christians a wrong word?

Before you get paranoid, try re-asking it. If it doesn't appear again, then you know something is up and you should lodge a complaint. I see plenty of questions re: Judaism and Islam but I guess they're extremely scared of the site being used as a tool to inflame hatred. I agree with you though, that shouldn't stifle debate...but look what happened on Big Brother! I think all media R becoming that much more careful.. I once wrote to a Yahoo Answers user who was saying that the Suffolk murders were part of a police conspiracy!! However, when I pointed out how stupid this was, (and others agreed), I was also hit with a violation message. I think we R all a casualty of fear and over-sensitivity at the moment. It's funny, you'd think the 'net' would be a good source of free and open expression. Actually, it's a very good way of monitoring and controlling what people R thinking and doing!!! Be careful!!

No, you can't sue a website for not posting a question. It's a corporation, and they can delete any question they want for any reason. It's their site, they can do whatever the hell they want as long as they aren't threatening people or giving out personal information. Don't bother complaining to them either, as you more than likely won't get a response. Try rephrasing your questions and cut out certain keywords (the word jews for instance), as they are more than likely what got your question removed in the first place. There isn't some guy sitting there, deleting questions, it's a script running that automatically deletes questions with certain words and phrases.

Be specific when you talk to them. Ask them what exactly was offensive so you can re-word the question. As far as a suit is concerned, I doubt you can. They have many rules as to what you can do, and what they are allowed to do. I'm sure in the "rules" somewhere there is a right to deny service clause. If all else fails, find a number and call or write a letter and send it certified mail. Then if there is no response you might have a discrimination case. Good Luck!

yes I did wonder. I posted 2 questions earlier tonight which were fairly uncontroversial but they both were about ethnic issues. They just went into a big Yahoo dustbin somewhere.

Stick to questions about Limewire downloads from now on and you'll be OK...?

Of course, you can. The real question is whether you can win the case. The answer to that question is most likely "no".

But you can try to write a letter to their CEO. It's free and more likely to be successful (though still a very slim chance)

Sometimes when I ask questions, they don't appear at all - I think that's a common problem for a lot of people.
I was so annoyed that points were taken off me for no reason.

Never mind though, try again tomorrow and it will probably work x

i think you may just have to reword it. sometimes the silliest questions are banned for one specfic word. i know it's stupid. try asking it differently. with other wording or spacing out the words you think flagged the question.
