EMS is an awesome field, but if you are looking to make money, this isn't the field to do it in. I am an EMT and they are the lowest paid workers, next to fast food. It's a noble profession and I wouldn't trade it for anything (I have 2 jobs), but do what will secure you a future. Good luck

Take a test online to see what job best suits your personalty. I did and It made alot of sense. I was going to be a nurse or occupation therapy assistant. I wasnt satisfied with my outlook in this field of work. I took several test (called aptitude tests) for free online. After many nights tossing and turning about my future, I prayed to God to reveal what career I would be happy doing. There is a saying that is so true..."If you love your work, wont be work at all". According to the test, I am most suited to work in a career where I use problem solving skills. I also am a builder at heart. I looked at several choices and Im at a technical college now pursuing a career as an electrician. I have several career pathes as a licensed electrician I could take so Im still deciding. Good luck, just remember that what you think is your destiny, could be wrong and the right answer is right under your nose!

ems would be more practical and obvious when you're making money. To be a writer, it would be tough to be successful. You should read about some of the ones that are succsessful now and how long it took them to become that way. Stephen King wrote his first book, Carrie, if I remember right, on a manual typewriter, it sitting on his lap, he and his wife and maybe one child living in a trailer house. Or so I've heard. Okay, so even if it wasn't that extreme, I remember reading it was very tough. It took awhile for his career to take off.

You didn't say how old you are, but if it were me, i would try to learn as much as i can about both of them, the good things and the bad things, and then decide which i wanted to do.
Try talking to someone who is already an ems, and then try to find someone who can talk with you about writing. Invest a little time to find out things as you get older, then you can make a knowledgeable decision, and one that is right for you.
Good luck

One that you enjoy doing.
If you don't like your work - you're unlikely to be happy even if you're well-paid.
