i been wanting my tongue pierce since i was in 6th grade(crazy? i know) and now im in 12 and she finally said i could do it...But i just want to know what are the consequences of it?. And if i decide to take it off, would it close again? and the most important question lol...does it hurt a lot?

The consequences of having your tongue pierced include the distortion of your speech , and surrendering your individuality to the conformity that self mutilation has become .
Ask yourself , if mass media had not bombarded you and your generation with constant images of lower back tatoos and multiple body piercings , would you still want one ?
Having your tongue pierced is not an act of rebellion . It does not make you cool or an outsider . It makes you a follower .
Define yourself by your thoughts and actions not your appearance . And definately not by what everyone else has decided is hip .

it hurts after like maybe late ron in the day or the day after it doesnt hurt when u get it pierced there r no "consequences" jus maybe a week after u get it done u should change the ring 2 a plastic 1 b/c metal 1z can chip ur teeth... jus keep your mouth clean fallow the directions that the place gives you it should heal fine and yes it will clothes if u take it out 4 a long period of time...good luck!!! i love my tongue ring!!!

I've never had my tounge pierced. Some say it hurts a lot -- others say their tounges were numb and didn't feel anything. Just be sure you go to a clean, professional piercing place. That is the most important thing you should be worrying about. Check this link.

Don't do it! I watched this documentary on TV and a lot of people get this deasise and their tounge falls off! And it doesn't close!!! Once its done it's there forever even if you don't wear the ring you will just have a big whole in youre tounge, so don't do it! And no I am not some grumpy old lady whos telling you this, I am 12, too and will soon be 13!

i know there is a huge vein in ur tongue and if they dont pierce it on the side of that vein ur tongue swells up and u DIE!!!! all it takes is some new worker to come in an slip or just knick ur tongue and u r soooo thru!!! thats y they make u sign a waiver first saying they arent responsible for any problems INCLUDING death! ur choice tho! GL

I would not do that because It causes brutle and excruiating pain to you face and remember of all the bacteria when you eat with it on and other things to your tongue. Im not sure about taking it off it might close up.
PLEASE MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE

It hurts like you would not believe! And you have to keep ice cubes in your mouth for at least 5 hours after you get it pierced. And also it chips your teeth. And if you take it out it will close.

dont listen to most of the people on this website, they are abunch of hypocrites...my best friend got hers done and she says it doesnt hurt. I want to get mine, but im waiting until i get my braces taken off....there are alot of dental problems you get with peircing your toungue if you dont take right care of your mouth...theres no consequences, and there ARE some people that have had their tongues fall out from it. But thats a really low number compared to the people who do it, and are fine. and of course their are risks of getting it, theres risks for everything.
I say you have a better chance of getting hit by a cow on a skateboard then getting an infection if you take care of it properly (weird comparison LOL)

well yes and the dangerous part is that some people that i knoe have it and sometimes they forget to take it off and they swallowed it on accident well its cool but shouldn't you may try to start with a nose and if no than well good luck having it

Well, getting your tongue pieced does hurt and its NOT worth it. I wouldn't do it.
