How about Enya 'Only Time'? I know, sounds cheesy like the other answers, but a great song and could even fill in the entire slide show with it. Here's the lyrics:

Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...

And who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...

(chants)

Who can say why your heart sighs,
As your love flies?
Only time...

And who can say why your heart cries,
When your love dies?
Only time...

(chants)

Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be,
In your heart.

And who can say when the day sleeps,
The moon still keeps on moving
If the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart...

(extended chants)

Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...

And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...

Who knows?
Only time...

Who knows?
Only time...

Or for just some pretty music to go with the slide show one of my favs is by Orbital- Halcyon and On and On. It's a really nice peaceful song. They played it in Mortal Kombat and Mean Girls at the end. =) You can listen to it here on You Tube:

*Edited- I just had a great thought if you're going to do one for guys and one for girls as the guy suggested above, a good oldie but goodie is Khalil (Interlude) on Boyz II Men's CD "II". It's talking about changing from boys to men and how they have to figure out the path on their own. Guess that leaves you to come up with one for the girls*

I would have to go with any of these 3:

Time Of Your Life - Green Day
Photograph - Nickelback
What A Good Boy - Barenaked Ladies

There's actually two songs I can think of:

Time of My Life by Green Day
Graduation Day by Chris Isaak

a nice, classic, cliche, cheesy one is "graduation" by vitamin c.

though you might think that's kinda corny and childish for high school. but it's still a good song.

Wind beneath my wings is a good one. You could also do Friends are Friends Forever by Michael W. Smith.
