Sorry, I've not heard of a car called a woolworths safe. And you are in the cars and transportation maintenance and repairs section after all. Who makes this vehicle?

Did You get 2 keys supplied with your safe? There is a panel that clips off and you use the key to open the safe, u can either fit new batteries and use kepad or just use the key supplied.

They should've supplied you with some keys to open it. Since the batteries are located INSIDE the safe, you aren't going to be able to change them without finding the key to open it.

IF IT SIMILAR TO MINE,THERE SHOULD BE A KEY SLOT HIDDEN BEHIND THE BLACK PLASTIC COVER NEAR THE LOCK.
THE KEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUPPLIED WITH THE SAFE?
