So far, I've been browsing Tigerdirect, Zip Zoom Fly, and Newegg for gaming components, but I do not what configurations are best. Thanks for the help

socket 775 board to support dual core (can start with 2.8 celeron to save initial cost)
Min 1 gig ddr2 memory
dvdrw
min 160 gig sata hard drive
video card that supports shading (ati 9500 or better - staples carries diamond cards, a generic card with ati chips)

I'm no expert but allot of people suggest newegg.com. Also microcenter.com website has a few articles that may be of interest
