in terms of overall quality, fun, and education, are they worth going to? does it have parties too and how are they compared to public universities?

It's highly dependent on the individual schools you're talking about. Not all privates are going to have tiny classes or whatever advantages their proponents claim.

It hard to overgeneralize and say one is definitely better than the other; however, private universities do tend to have smaller classes. Knowing the professors and having the professors know you is much more likely. In a large public university, particularly in your first two years, you may be sitting in courses with hundreds of other people. The professor may never know your name. In a smaller private college, not only will the professor know your name but will likely know how you did on the last assignment.

It depends on which private university and which public university. There are good and bad of both. There are certainly parties at any college, private or public. You just need to find the school with the atmosphere you're looking for.

They are smaller. That's the most important part. Everything else is pretty much the same, except your professors teach your classes instead of grad students, since smaller colleges don't have grad students.
