All straight men with girlfriends, wives or lovers would be in the dog house. Coupled, straight women would be totally pissed off. Yes, indeed, it would be a very ugly day, unless those straight, coupled women were also into Football as much as guys are.

Football fans with non-football-loving significant others would have hard choice to make. Many guys would make the wrong choice, therefore, the year would go down in history as the Super Bowl with the most fights off the field. lol :)

A bit of advice for anyone facing that situation: The super bowl starts in the afternoon or evening. Start your Valentine's wooing early in the day. Romance your love and make her feel cherished and pampered. Maybe even pay for her to have a relaxing afternoon at a spa or massage palor, or even a shopping spree (while you enjoy the game), and promise and deliver something extra special for her (think of what she would enjoy enjoying with you) when the game is over and she returns. And don't forget include a romantically presented valentine's present. (No, the shopping spree does not count, that was just to get her out of the house. However, a present does not have to be expensive. It just needs to show that she is important to you.) I can't see where she could have any complaints after all of that. You would be the most wonderful guy in the world. ;)
