You are far from being grown my dear. Don't rush it either. Soon you'll be paying bills and supporting a family. Especially the way you talk. You may just have a family of your own before you turn legal if you think you are so grown. Let up. Enjoy being a youth.

Just because you get piercings, dye your hair and wear make-up does not mean you do it correctly. Trust me, right now you think you are way mature and grown up. Wait until you get a little older, and you will realize how immature you are at that age. Not just you, everyone is. I know you do not think it now, but you will realize it soon. But until then, just be sure not to do anything too drastic that you will regret later. I know when you are 12 and you get a tattoo/piercing you think it will be cool forever. But, let me put it this way-- If I had a tattoo of the singer that I liked when I was your age, I would have Micheal Jackson tattooed on me... Not good, looking back now, is it?

Well as hard as it is to accept we are just a kid, because we know stuff, because we wear make-up, and because we dye our hair does not mean anything. Its mostly expeirience that accounts for the consideration of being an adult. And while we are mature to older people with more knowlegle of the world and more expierience with people we seem like people who have their whole lives ahead of them and they think back to when they were 11, 12, and 13 and they think of what they accomplished then and compare it to what they've acomlished up to know and its pretty much nothing.
Hope i helped
Bye

Just wearing make-up does not mean you are mature. If you don't need it, the reason you wear it is because you think it makes you mature. Cussing is for people who aren't mature enough to have a REAL vocabulary. Piercings are to get attention, just like makeup and cussing.
People DO underestimate younger people, but being mature is not any of those things. Being mature is basically knowing what's right, and doing it, and not trying to be something you're not. Especially to be cool.
That's my opinion, at least.

I've known 65-year-olds that I didn't think were mature. Knowing things doesn't make you mature. Cussing is a sign of immaturity in my book. Wearing make-up, dyeing hair, and piercings don't prove maturity either. Age doesn't produce maturity, but it sure offers a lot of opportunities to develop maturity.

Hi, Emily. 13 is the very beginning of the teenage years. You're not a child anymore, but you're not an adult either. Yes, of course you know things, and you have opinions on many issues. Just don't be in too much of a hurry to grow up.
I hope you save your question and all the answers and read it about 10 years from now and see what you think. :)

you will know why WE think that 11,12,13 years old kids are not mature when you get mature.
you kids think that you are not kids and that you can do anything you want but things are not that easy.
you'll face problems and situations that will not be easy
right now you don't think that way because you don't have a responsibility and because your parents are taking care of you.
But believe me when you get older you'll change the way you think.
Look is true that you are not a little kid anymore.
You understand things and you have the capacity to make decisions but you still have a lot of things to learn.

i don't know why people think so little of younger kids, I'm 14 and i actually don't get treated like "that" much of a kid sure my parents are all still over protective and what not but society respects me but that's probably because i look at least 16 or 17... but umm I'd say 11's are still pretty immature for the most part =\

I'm 14.
It goes like this:
When you were 6 lets say, you always felt BIGGER than you are, right?
Now at whatever age you're at, you look at 6 year olds and say "GOD, they're so small."
And to put it down, you ARE small. 11, 12, 13. We're young to someone who's 20. Sadly, they don't remember being our age, and sadly, they don't realise how much older they felt.
And, obviously, we aren't much mature. We're still young for gods sakes. Get over it.

I don't think they are little kids but they certainly are not adults either!!
You think you sound so mature just because you wear make-up and have piercings?
That shows how immature you still are.
My suggestion is to get off the computer and stop whining about how unfair life is to "tweens".
Life is NOT fair. Deal with it.
