I for one am surprised Monk didn't get in AGAIN. (for very good arguments on why he should be in, go here http://www.monk4thehall.com/ and download the video (I reccomend the full 21min 170mb version, but you can download parts separately or watch it on youtube).

I'm also very dissapointed that Derrick Thomas didn't get it. After Lawrence Taylor, he is the only guy who comes close when it comes to sack-getting OLBs (I would say 3-4, but I'm not sure if that's what the chiefs used then). He one of the best OLBs to play the game. I could elaborate, but I won't because it will just come off as bitter complaining, and there's nothing it can do to get him in sooner.

I am glad Bruce Mathews and Thurman Thomas got in though, they deserved it, and to an extent Michael Irvin....

(I don't know why people were all upset that he wasn't already in ---I've never heard his name come up in "best WRs ever" disscussions --he's not "first ballot material" in my opinion (even though I think there shouldn't be a limit to # of people per year ---you're either HoF material or not, no one should be "more HoF material" than another). I'd comapre Irvin's stats to Jags old WR Jimmy Smith, and most people said he was good, but probably won't make the HoF (and I don't think he should). ----------anyway, people shouldn't be so upset about him not being in until now because he's only had 2 years of eligibility before this --Monk's had 6 --so even if Irvin is better than Monk (by not much), Monk's long wait is worse.

At least Art Monk never was arrested for possesion on a controlled substance(so far as I know). I saw DT play in college,
and he was an awesome LB. His record seven sacks in an NFL
game will likely never be broken.

I think it totally stinks. I don't think Irvin was better either. Monk didn't score as much, but he was a better player. He was double teamed a lot, and the Redskins usually relied on the running backs to go in for the score. Irvin, if they would've enforced offensive pass interference on him, would've barely caught the ball at all.

--the idea that Charlie Brown or Ricky Sanders was a better receiver than Monk is a joke. They were able to make the catches they did because the opposing D's took their chances with them and not Art Monk. The only WR the skins ever had that you could say was even in his same league during those years was Gary Clark, but he wasn't as durable.

Yeah it's kind of screwed up. Monk deserves to be there and he'll get in next year I think. As far as Monk being a better receiver than Irvin, it's close but Irvin was a better player. Derrick Thomas should have gotten in this year for sure, that guy was awesome and you're right comparing him and LT, they guy made teams change their game plan.

well, I used to think Monk should have been inducted, but the one argument that I heard that made sense was that for most of his career, Monk was not even the best receiver on his own team. Charlie Brown in the beginning and Ricky Sanders in the end. Monk was consistent, and he owned most of the records at one point in time, so I am kinda torn on the decision. He was definitely not one of the players responsible for the Skins winning the Super Bowl's like Irvin was. Irvin was a team leader, and him and Aikman, and Emmitt were the three guys that made it happen.

DT- I agree, I cant believe that he is not in yet.

Yes it is a joke that Art Monk didn't get elected AGAIN!!!

I have a feeling that Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith's complaing last year had a HUGE part why Irvin got elected this year.

Who are these writers anyway?????????

i develop into suprised even as they presented that is on ECW yet then i realized that that is a hardcore legend. Terry Funk got here to recommendations at cutting-edge. they seem choosing the older wrestlers lately so i do not imagine they'll flow with Bigelow as he develop into nevertheless a wrestler in common words a pair of years in the past. The Funk brothers may truly be a sturdy addition to the hof considering they both held the NWA identify.
