My guestion is: Do i have to stay with the same make and model of the master hard drive. I need a lot more space for my used win 2000 pro e-machine. Thanks for any help. Rita M

Any brand and model hard drive will work as long as it uses the same interface, you undoubtedly have Ide. any ide hard drive will work, just plug it in and plug the power in and it will show up.
An even easier way would be to get an external usb hard drive. its very easy to transfer between computers, so you wont have to deal with trying to put it in your next computer instead of just plugging it into the usb.

Any brand hard drive will work. The type of interface PATA (IDE) or SATA is what you need to look at.
