Well, it can depend on the situation...if a man is cheating on his wife and files for divorce, obviously it will be harder on her, and vice versa... However, in general I would say that men suffer more. First of all, 70% of divorces are initiated by women. Second, women tend to have an easier time to get a 'rebound' if they want. A rejected woman can head down to the local bar and have several guys approach her during the night. A rejected man - well, he has to go through all the moves again and risk getting his fragile ego broken even more.

These are all massive generalities, but I hope you understand what I mean.

BOTH!! it depends on the circumstances that caused the split. if i had to choose one though, it would be women. mainly because if there are children involved, the full responsibility of them falls to the mother generally. starting over for women most of the time is harder too, for the same reason as above.

and for the F or M... divorce is harder for anyone who takes it hard...
its hard for the person with the least amount of lay back resource!

it is harder on the one not wanting the divorce, harder on the one who is less financially well off, the one who wants the divorce is often happy and the one who wants to reconcile is far worse off, in self worth and acceptance of it.

I would guess initially, harder on the man. Typically the woman initiates it.

Five years later, the guy is remarried.
