lol - u ever heard of a phrase that goes 'if in doubt, give it a clout' ? sometimes brute force & ignorance really can work, although i think that using a sledgehammer might be be classed as overkill..... try giving it a slap / kick. good luck..... (i'm assuming u have tried changing the fuse in the plug ?)

totally! i took a sledgehammer to our incredibly noisy sky box and what do you know? it doesnt make a sound now! :o|

If you do it will release loads of toxic material into your house, & if it exposes a capacitor, & you touch it, or with something metal, you could be killed by a huge electric shock.
