Does each editor have his/her own job that is no one else's business? A fashion editor, sports editor, movie review editor, special clubs editor... and so forth. When everyone in a newpaper has a specific role... and only that role... people tend to calm down. By the way, major newspapers have the same stress you are dealing with. Good luck !

Where is your advisor in all of this? Somebody has to be in charge. If not your teacher then which one is the senior editor? Sit down and meet calmly. Together work out a plan of what needs to be done and when it has to be done to get the paper to press on time.

I know what you mean about stressful. I was on the school paper ages ago and it was stressful then. But in the end it's all worth it isn't it?

You may need to 'prune' the bad branches of this tree, to save the tree. Identify the problem people and exactly how they are a problem. Sit down with them (the person in charge should do this) and explain to them how they are a problem and how you expect them to change. If they do not change (give them specifics and a deadline), then they are GONE.

It is better to have 3 good people working for an organization than 10 bad ones. Three people working responsibly will get much more accomplished than larger numbers working irresponsibly.

Best wishes and good luck.
