People will call her Jessie... or Jess. if you can live with that and she can , too, then I guess it's okay. Have you ever known a Samantha who wasn't called Sam... or a Kimberly who wasn't a Kim?

I know this generation likes "trying" to be different, but at the expense of sounding old...LOSE IT!

Stick with a simple name. One that is easy to BOTH spell AND pronounce.

Remember, a name follows you the rest of your life, and represents you wherever you go. Including school, employment, applications, etc...whenever you offer a name that is "out of the normal", you are giving many people the opportunity to discount you based upon your name alone. Never opening themselves to your potential or possibilities.

Why risk it?

My name is: Laurette (pronounced lawr-et, but I get Larietta, Loretta, Lavrette, Lavretta etc...) unless you intend to have the child wear a sign saying "my name is pronounced ..." )

You get the idea.

I think any name that is not easy to pronounce needs to be spelled differently. Try spelling it like how you pronounce it.

it's a nice name, but i think you should spell it like you pronounce it so people will say it right.

I think it is different. I am assuming that it is a girls name. It just may be hard to produce. But it gathers attention

they way you wrote it , it looks like Jes-skima, but if you use it as Jessima, it is unique but easy enough that people do not screw up the name when they try to say it
