I am 26, have a 2 year old and i am trying to fall pregnant.
We have been trying for just over 6 months. My period is never late and lasts 5 days.
My period was the normal colour on the 1st day, but by day 2 it had gone browny/black and only a little amount of it (Like it does on the last day) and has been that way for day 3, 4 and today. The only day i can class it as a period was the 1st day when it was completely normal.
I know that the colour means "Old" blood but could this mean i could be pregnant. I am going to take a pregnancy test but dont want to get my hopes up. Just really want to know what other people think.
Thankyou

Well if that last period was very unusual to you then i guess there is a chance you may be pregnant .. You will have to do a test to put your mind to rest lol but i really hope you get that positive result you so badly want...let me know how you get on ..

Good Luck xx

I would honestly say you are probably pregnant but are either miscarrying or going to.
Personal experience only speaking: 12/04 got pregnant just after having a tubal reversal surgery in 9/04. I bled normal the first day, lighter the second and then brown the third. By day 4 and 5 nothing. I went to the doctors due to high risk and he found nothing. I went home only to experience heavy bleeding 4 days after seeing him.
I am not a medical doctor but those would be my suggestions. If nothing else then probably just your cycling changing its time as it always does about 6 months. You go a day longer or are off by a day or two. We go by calendar days which some months are short others long.

I do wish the very best for you, and I hope that because you sound so excited about being pregnant that you are.

It's great to be on the safe side of taking a pregnancy test. That would be your best bet while not getting your hopes up. If you did get pregnant, this could be the implantation of the egg and sperm uniting causing your peiod to be the color that it is. Just to be on the safe side, I would call you obgyn and explain what's going on with the brownish/black color. Better safe and sorry and also being prepared. Good luck!

hi take a test if it says no then stop stressing about getting pregnant coz if u just relax and take it a day at a time it will happen, but if ur stressing about it im afraid it wont help, iv had that dark blood problem for a while but i was on the injection and know im on the implant and i still get it my body has got to get used to the changes. if u have stopped taking a form of contraception then ur body is just trying to get bk to the norm so its nothing to worry about hope it helps and remember take it easy and dont worry about it, then it will happen

this could mean a number of things..implantation bleeding maybe?
I think you should compleatly take your mind of this.I remember doing what you are doing, and i got very upset every month, then i got a job..a nurse and i would cycle around the islandd where i lived in Guernsey and see all these patients..well..within months i was pregnant,i totally forgot about getting pregnant. Please do not put yourself through this.I even used to get phantom pregnances where i would leak milk, feel sick and get backache..and then feel cross when i had a period. There is no greater force on this earth than the desire to procreate..but nature will take it,s course.

Well I would assume so because if it is always normal, then it changes. Something is going on in your body. I would assume you are pregnant. BUT before getting your hopes up, make sure with a test.

Sound like a period to me.... try having sex 9 days after the first day of your period. That worked in my family.

here's the game you might be pregnant, might not...you apparently can breed as you have a two year old so keep up the active sexlife, get your rest and remeber we have the children we are supposed to have WHEN we are supposed to have them, relax and in no-time you will be in the throes of morning sickness...
