Some professions are "respected" because they pay a lot - which isn't true respect really, is it?

Investment bankers, IT workers, etc, fall into the above categoy.

Some professions don't pay as well as they used to, like teaching, but they're still highly respected.

Finally, some professions are highly respected AND highly paid - namely the three top professions: accountancy, law and medicine.

I dont think any professions are universally respected. I think that sort of thing is gone for better or worse.

In England, there is a shortage of plumbers, so they are highly paid, so are many trades these days....

Local authority parking wardens. Look at the crimes to humanity they commit and get away with..

nurses they are under paid under-appreciated and overworked,in my opinion.
