I used to volunteer at the local shelter. I had a blast and so did the dogs. I took them out walking or into a big pen where they could run and play fetch.

You could see how happy they were just being out of the little cages. It made me feel good and them too. Plus walking them gave me some exercise.

I also played with the cats in a big playroom. The main point is that all animals get some attention instead of just being cooped up in a little cage by themselves.

I would highly recommend it if you love animals. I now have cats, dogs, a cow, and a horse, so I really don't have time to volunteer anymore. I spend all my time taking care of my own.

If you have the extra time and like animals alot, i would highly suggest doing it. It is very rewarding. I used to volunteer at a vet clinic. I would walk the dogs, give them baths, feed them, and basically keep them company. After being in a kennel all day long, they are so excited to come out and play with someone. It will definately be worth it.

YEssss! its fun if you love animals of course. i would suggest going with a friend.
We got to walk the dogs and play with the kittens and puppies.
The only bad things are the smell and the cleaning of the cages but you dont have to do that part.

Its fun if you like EVERYTHING that comes with animals because believe me you experience it all. The 50th time you have to wipe up puke you're either used to it or ready to run screaming.

And you have to have a good heart but be strong enough. I adopted two pets and couldn't take it anymore so I HAD to quit. :)
