Make sure not to draw back too far as you will use up most of your swing by the time you reach your victim. Pull your fist about a foot away for maximum effect. Dont tuck your thumb inside your fist and try to get them on the ground if you're going to continue beating them.
Myself, I am an expert on the fine art of backhanding, but I am a female...... you probably can't get away with a backhand if you're male unless you're a pimp. If you are female or a pimp, consider the mighty backhand. It makes a loud, satisfying, smacking sound as it delivers an effective stinging sensation. If you have catlike reflexes (as I do) you can hit them before they realize what has happened and your victim will be too surprised to retaliate. Follow up by saying something like, "I'm sorry you made me do that to you." Extra points if you can actually get them to apologize to you!

Oh me god !!! what a question !!! I Guess the only way is with a clenched fist making sure your thumb is on the outside of it (my father taught me that) or else you could break it if you do happen to crack someone ( really hope not !! ) hard enough. But why dont you try putting some boxing gloves on and learning in a proper controlled way in a ring at a club instead eh .....

Without causing yourself injury at the same time, there are a few different ways, most people use their fist to hit right on the bridge of someone's nose, but others tens to hit in the stomach, then follow that with a strike on the cheek, then a double-handed strike on the back of their neck, so they stay down.
But if you really want to hurt someone, you could always kick at their knee caps, although this will mean they can't retalliate for a long while, it could cost them the function of being able to walk properly again, given the force of impact.

Personally I think the only acceptable way is for them to be behind a punch bag.
Try a bit of boxercise at the gym - really works wonders for that mental stress as well as the body.

In the kidneys. It hurts like heck, even if you can't get much force behind it. Get behind and to the side and punch just below the ribcage of either side, it hits the kidneys and knocks the wind out. I'm a really non-athletic girl, but I did this to my guy friend and he had the breath completely knocked out of him and was gasping for air.

I was in a fight 2 nights ago...
I grabbed the guys collar pulled his head down with my left arm and upper cut him 4 or 5 times with my right till I felt blood on my fist which was gross!
Then about 6 of his friends beat me pretty badly but I got none in the face so it's OK.
Guard your face and you'll be OK

ball up your fist and make sure your thumb is on the outside or you will break it. then make damn sure this is how you want to handle this situation. if you decide it is, a punch to the jaw is usually very effective, but be warned people will punch back if they are still standing after your turn and they are pi$$ed off.

A Norwegian asked me once if I wanted five of the bunch in the laughter box - although the last word may have been something else as he didn't quite get it out

No way. If you were really hard you would close your eyes and let someone punch you and not flinch.
Well, you started it !
