You probably have a co-pay. The insurance will only treat certain conditions, such as acne treatment or other skin ailments. Insurance won't cover elective procedures, such as hair removal or removal of skin tags (unless cancerous).

Call your health care provider. I have an HMO plan so I needed to go to my primary physician and get an authorization to see the dermatologist first. Then I went to the dermatologist.
FYI: If you have HMO like me than make sure to have a good reason to see the derma or the insurance will not cover. Example; I said I needed a skin cancer check.

Besides the copay, there can be an out of pocket and/or a deductible. I hope you are pleasantly surprised. So free, probably not, but much less than if you did not have insurance.

Depends on your insurance. There may be a copay involved. Check with your insurance provider.
