To be honest goggles are googles when it comes down to it there wont be a massive difference in quality but often quite a large difference in price, go for the ones that you like the look of best and are within the range you want to spend.

Dragon and Smith are both great. Check peripheral vision and fit.

More important than brand is to figure out what the conditions are going to be and make sure you get lenses that are appropriate. In bright light you should be looking for a lenses that is mirrored on the dark side - this helps keep your eyes from getting burnt. If you are going on overcast days you need a lighter amber lenses. When light is diffused you loose depth perception the amber lenses give you some help in that department. If you wear you cool mirrored goggles on a heavy snow day you will be wrecking all day.

Oakley makes the best, hands down, A-Frame and Wisdom. They will cost more than most, but they are worth it, if you must try on other brands, but you can't go wrong with the best in optics.

Smith, Gordini, Dragon...There are quite a few good brands. But I really don't know about there being a "best." Ask a salesperson who is a professional in that area about a really good brand. I really doubt there is just ONE brand who is specifically the best.

Good luck!

I'm partial to Oakley's, hard on the wallet but easy on the eyes.. except for the frame you can hardly tell you have them on..
