There are many types of birth control methods.Firstly if you have been on the pill for more than 3 yrs ,a proper screening must be done on you..do contact your family doctor for it.You must understand there is no method that is 100% safe.Your birth control pill is only 90% safe.IUD contrapceptives with or without hormones. Hormonal implants. Condomes.BTL i.e Tubal ligation.
All these depends on your parity how many children you have.Consult a doctor and have a proper assesment done. Otherwise go to the Family Planning Clinic in your area for a opinion with your husband preferably.

consider IUD or the nuva ring. If you are at all over weight the patch is pretty much useless and I have had a couple friends try it, one said it was ok but annoying cuz you feel like you have a band aid on all the time and another said hers came off every 2 or 3 days. Also I understand not wanting to use condoms because you are a commited couple that is more than likely not having other partners, but at times if used properly it may be your best option. I dont recommend spermicide foams or strips because i have not had good results with either (one caused a yeast infection the other a UTI). I take the pill personally and I'd rather go through that inconvenience than get pregnant... which would be more annoying honestly? Talk to your doctor about ALL your options and they will recommend what will be best for you and your lifestyle!

There are several good options. Since you've been using the pill for a while, perhaps the best choices would be either the shot or the Nuva Ring. The patch is ok, but it has been linked to higher risks for blood clots. Talk to your gynecologist about your options.
Personally, I've used an IUD (sucked), diaphragm (got pregnant), condoms (pregnant/miscarried), the shot (loved it) and the pill (still using). Basically I've been on BC for 20 years and I prefer the control offered by hormonal methods.

You have an array of options available through an OB/GYN.
For instance:
Hormone injections
IUD
vaginal ring that releases low levels of hormones to prevent pregnancy
Tube rings that crimp your fallopian tubs so the semen can reach the egg and the egg can't be released for implantation
The patch
Barrier methods such as:
diaphram
cerivical cap
sponge
(all provide a barrier and use an additional spermicide)

Try depo provera. It's so easy, I love it. The doctor will give you a shot once every three months. Then you don't have to think about it again until it's time for the next shot. It's just as effective as the pill.

I've tried almost every type of birth control. NUVARING is the best. Its a small ring you put into your vagina. You take it out after 3 weeks, have a period (light and short ones :) ) and then you put another back in. I love it sooo much, it feels like you're not even on birth control. It doesnt get in the way of sex and it doesnt fall out. You totally forget its even there! I already convinced all my friends yo use it and they ALL LOVE IT.

I used an IUD for years, the first 2 weeks had some cramping but after that it was great !
No pills to remember and none of the hazards that the pill has .

Depo Provera. It is actually more effective than the pill because you can't forget a dose. It is a shot you get once every 3 months. I love it, not least because Aunt Flo ain't been visiting since I started it!!!!!!

IUD!!!! I have had it for a year and I LOVE IT. If you have any questions, this site will help. It is the greatest thing EVER. I had been on the pill for 6-7 years. I love it. It lasts five years, but can be removed at anytime by your doctor. Once removed, you go back to being fertile IMMEDIATELY!I had terrible periods and now its like barely there. After five years, you have to get it removed, but can replace it with a new one immediately! Feel free to ask me anything about it!!!
