how do i change pic size from bitmap to jpeg from cam stills?

when taking a still pic with my cam it comes out in a bitmap format which is no good to post on most websites -needs to be jpeg-anyway to change the way my cam takes theses stills?

open it in paint, click save as and click jpg image

well as for changing it I dont know but if you just click on the pick to open it in paint you can save as it into a jpg or gif format
