Babel -- I felt bereft for days afterwards. Cast Away always makes me cry (though it's not a typical "sad movie").

dont remember the name of this one, but really sad: Michael Keeton played a father who knew he was going to die. he got a camcorder and made a tape for his newborn son to be played after he grew up. very sad.
