I want to try out for American Idol, but I just don't know how old I have to be in order to try out.

I believe the minimum age is 16 and the maximum age is 28 or 29. I will find out for sure & come back & edit this once I find out.
Ok, I checked and for THIS season here are the rules...http://www.americanidol.com/auditions/rules.php I'm sure if you were to look around the site, you will be able to find links for the auditions for 2008's season, that will be held this summer/fall, and be able to sign up for updates on the rules (as they sometimes change each season)

I believe the youngest age is 16. At least that is the youngest age I have seen on the show. I think it's great that you want to try out!
