I love animals, and I am a guy. I am 16, and taking some biololgy classes and whatnot. I was wondering what kind of school you need to take, how many years of college, need to get a degree? all that stuff. I'd appreciate the help!

A veterinary school - usually in the US there's one in every state, usually as part of some larger university. Veterinary school is usually a four year program. You normally would need a college degree with very good grades in order to get admitted to vet school. So all in all it's probably 8 years of college.

there are specialist veterinarian schools around. Not many so dont be surprised if yoiu have to live away from home to attend one.

Its not easy to get in. My sister-in-law applied 3 times to get in to a vet school, but was not successful. She tried med school as well.

Her grades were apprently not good enough - think she had a B+ average (dont know what her GPA was - this was 20 years ago)

Yes you need a degree. you have to go to college and then vet school. Its like med school but for animals. It also requires alot of schooling. I think 8 yrs like a Dr, And you have to have excellent grades in college to get into vet school.
Good luck,
maybe someday I will be bringing my dog to you
