I have a soon to be 13 yr old and went through this when my daughter was 11 as well. We sat down and talked about why she wanted to dye her hair first since it lasts for a while even if it is a temporary color. I let her use a semi-permanent color that was still a somewhat natural looking color (instead of the blue she wanted) after I explained that she would be stuck with it until it faded out. With the makeup I simply told her that I didn't start wearing any make up at all until I was in 7th grade, so same goes for her. I bought her some light neutral colors during the summer between 6th and 7th grade and let her experiment with them while she was at home (that way I could give suggestions on what is acceptable and what was not before the school year hit and she would be seeing all the girls at school again). She was limited to eyeshadow and lip glosses to start, then mascara and light lipsticks later. I bought her Bobbi Brown's book on teen make up which promotes the less is more theory and tells teens make up is just a tool to enhance their own natural beauty. (I read a lot of the book myself before giving it to her just to make sure I agreed with the message it gave.) She had done a few other hair colors since when the mood strikes her, always temporary and usually as a reward for something (like good grades). The make up actually rarely gets used now, she knows she can wear it if she wants to, but since it is not such a big deal, she isn't really interested in it. She has even decided to let her hair go back to her natural hair color for a while. Her "Who Am I" experiment has been done and now she is happy being the same girl she was before the whole thing started. After going through the whole process, if she wanted to dye her hair blue again, I would be okay with it since I know it is just her expressing who she is.

Well if you don't want her to dye her hair, don't let her. You make the rules. Even if you start with removable dye, she will only want longer-lasting results next time.

My parents said "no" to any and all hair dye until I turned 18. While that's a little strict, I don't think it would be unreasonable to tell your daughter she is too young right now and must wait until she's a little older, like 15 or 16.

To be honest I feel 11 is just too young for make-up. Perhaps 12-thirteen is ok but not too much! You don't want her watching like a clown! I consider when she's 12 maybe some bb cream (it's really light and just right coverage, additionally just right for epidermis) and clear mascara. As for shaving- there may be not really a collection age. It can be whenever you feel it is wanted. Preserve in intellect shaving may additionally purpose dry dermis, irritations and cuts. Might be waxing can be better? I have waxing executed and it makes your epidermis believe tender and tender, and the hair takes longer to develop again. Hope this helped!

I have a daughter 17 she didn't start wearing make up until around 15. This is only my feelings on the matter but 11 is WAY too young to do any of that (dying hair or makeup) these young Lady's are trying to grow up too fast, let her wait a couple more years, the faster she tries to be a young women instead of a little girl the more problems they seem to have.

I would say no.Hair dye can damage hair.It can make it dry and out of control. But if you say yes,(which I would never say)Try removable dye but don't dye all of it,start out with streaks. But don't self-dye it.My 5th grade teacher bought a self-dye kit & used brown dye & her hair turned out slightly purple.
So she had to buy another kit.Which turned it maroon with some red in it.I hope I didn't give you a scare.

I started wearing make - up at 11(and I and everyone I know still does), but I just now got highlights and I'm 13! I don't want to get anything but highlights though, but you should start with removeable dye first, because she might not like it!

To be honest i think of 11 is only too youthful for makeup. consistent with probability 12-13 is okay yet not too lots! you do not choose her looking like a clown! i think of while she's 12 consistent with probability some bb cream (it is very easy and robust coverage, additionally solid for epidermis) and sparkling mascara. As for shaving- there is not likely a collection age. it is whenever you sense you will possibly desire to. remember shaving could additionally reason dry epidermis, irritations and cuts. consistent with probability waxing could be extra sensible? I definitely have waxing carried out and it makes your epidermis sense soft and soft, and the hair takes longer to strengthen lower back. desire this helped!

No, No, No, she's only 11 yrs.old. In my opinion she's still to young for that. I wouldn't let her wear makeup until shes 15yrs.old and to dye her hair too. Why would you want her to grow up so fast.
