I am 21 years old. I have not gotten my period since September. This happened to me once before when I was a junior in high school. I went six months without one then and the nurse told me that it was just because of low body weight. My aunt was always the same way, whenever she was active she wouldn't get her period. I feel healthy. I have my regular amount of energy (which is a lot) I have always eaten healthy, I don't get sick. I honestly feel totally healthy. My weight has stayed the same except I lost about 5 pounds in December. Seeing how it has been five months, I would know if I were pregnant by now, right? I work out a lot. I am 5'7 115 lbs. Does anyone have any suggetions? Is there something I can do to make my period come? Thank you so much.

My suggestion is that you pay a visit to your family doctor and tell her your symptoms. I am not a doctor so I won' be giving you any medical advice or try to guess at what may be the cause. The only person that can do that is a good qualified doctor or gynecologist. If it was happening to me, I wouldn't leave it, I would want to hear from the experts as soon as I could so I wouldn't worry and could get back on track again.
Hope this helps and good luck!

For your age and height you are slightly under weight but if you;ve always been thin thats nothing to worry about.. Eat healthy and make sure you drink plenty of fluids (water and milk) And take a daily vitamin. I would see a doctor to rule out any issues... the longest I've gone without one is 2 months but then i had it twice the next month. Your doctor may recommend birth control to regulate your periods. It doesn't hurt to get a check up and make sure everything is ok and to completely rule out pregnancy.

Doing a lot of exercise can cause amenorrhea- which is changes or ceasing of you menstrual cycle. Try reducing how much you work out or consult you GP or try a fitness instructor. Your BMI is about 18.04 which may mean you need to put on a bit of weight in order to have a rhythmic cycle. This problem is easily rectified with professionals.

Best of luck!

I think many people would cheerfully trade with you.

Talk to a doctor about your lack of regularity in this regard. I hear that some ladies who are hard core athletes have this issue.

I think that for a person your age and height, you should weigh a little bit more.. I'm 14 and I weigh about 110, so I think that you should try to gain a little bit more weight...

You should see a doctor so you can get your hormones regulated. It is common for very active women to have trouble with their periods.

cessation of your period due to low weight and/or exercise is fairly common place. however i would be consulting a doctor just to make sure there is no underlying problem. i do believe if you were pregnant that you would know by now!

I think you'd know if you were pregnant by this time.

You really shouldn't be asking here ... you should be asking your doctor.

Check it out.
